The Write Stuff
A Writer’s Journey
I grew up in small town, America–somewhere out in Texas. Although that’s a generic statement, there was nothing generic about the Texas town that I called home. Everything about it and my experiences there are unique. It is my goal, as a writer, to translate that uniqueness to my work.
Though I hold a degree in creative writing, most of what I’ve learned about the craft has been the result of voracious reading, writing, and observation.
Writing comes in all shapes and sizes. Whether it’s non-fiction or fiction, inspiration comes from experience. I have been putting pen to paper since before I could form letters–literally. As a child I would scribble nonsense on scraps of paper and then recite “stories” to whoever would listen.
Since those early days, I’ve had a multitude of experiences…both tangible and intangible. Professional adventures taught be the ins and outs of business and copywriting while personal adventures did the rest.
I love details so I have spent a lifetime observing and listening to the world around me. The stories I write include the best and worst parts of those observations…and there’s a little bit of me in everything I write.

My Work
Work in Progress
Stay tuned for more writing
Yes, I know a writer isn’t supposed to discuss their works in progress. I don’t want to give anything away in terms of what I’m working on right now, but I will say there is a full length novel in the works as well as multiple collections of poetry.
Feel free to check out my blog to keep up with my progress or to learn about writing tips that I’ve picked up along the way.
